Hey I decided to start refurbishing thinkpads with a friend recently, were mainly going to the XSeries at first. Although Ebay is a quick way to sell things, I've decided to branch out into starting a small website and brand name. I will be crosslisting these items on ebay with the added 10% fee that ebay charges. Otherwise I am thinking about accepting paypal and BTC.
The main reason behind this is that I'm not sure if a ebay sales model is sustainable, and I would like to try other business ideas in the future. Sites like minifree will sell a specked out thinkpad for around 378 euros or $424 usd. By speced out I mean 8gb of ram and a 1tb hdd. The smallest SSD on their site is 480gb, and is priced the same. I'm looking to sell similar librebooted or corebooted thinkpads 8gb of ram in most cases and a 120gb or 240gb SSD. The price range will hopefully be in the $200 to $260 range, at least on the sales website.
If you have any suggestions be free to contact me, I was also thinking about reselling galaxy s3's with replicant or some corebooted systems. Right now it seems though the x200's are quite popular. I use a x200s for editing my videos and it is actually quite nice, although since the x200s uses a wson 8 chip the libreboot install is a bit annoying.
>The website is still underconstruction :c
